Wat happens when a jewellery shop at a metro tries to open its a textile shop in a big town???Big guy from metro thinks tat it is cake walk..But wat eventually happens??Read over to get an overview..
This shop was opened in madurai 3 weeks before diwali. It was opened with gr8 hype and top notch politicians gracing the opening..With gr8 expectations we went there on the second day after opening..Unfortunately what we saw was complete lack of organisation..People from near by villages have come for a sort of mini picnic..There were a few squatting on the floor and having their lunch!!!The security was NIL at the gates and the owners will never know how much stock had left the shop unaccounted..The rest of the observations..let my pictures speak for itself
Clothes worth 1000+ heaped in disgrace..
Crowd at the lift lobby..Are the lifts functioning???
Cash Counter understaffed but jammed with customers!!!!
A kid playing with hangers ripped of from the clothes and thrown on the floor..
So this is inside Lalitha? Well I do not think it is just in Madurai even in Chennai inside Saravanas and Pothys it is the same...These stores and their lifts are not designed to handle the crowd and space being a premium in India store layouts and crowd management need to made better. And the solution most stores restore is to hire more staff but that personally is not an absolute solution but what is an ideal solution I know not.
ReplyDeleteAtleast in stores like pothys and saravanas they have some basic organisation to manage crowd..In pothys they manage using more staff..But as u had rightly stated it is not the ideal solution..CCTV camera management does not work here as it cant be applicable in a place like India where tracing a person is tough..We are yet to find a proper system for proper crowd management. Most of our technology is being imported from abroad these days..We have a completely different set of constraints. So we have to develop am indigenous solution for this problem
ReplyDeleteMadurai is waiting for improvisation from youth. I'm glad that you're responsible socially. Most of the youth today just hang around and never care.
ReplyDeleteLet's do something to our city when we're back here. :)
