We need a different stance in Kashmir

Kashmir has been seething since early June. Life across the Muslim-majority valley has been completely disrupted by curfews and protest strikes since some of the biggest anti-India demonstrations in two years erupted a month ago.Seventeen people, mostly teenage protesters, have been killed by security forces in near daily pro-freedom demonstrations fuelling anger across the disputed Himalayan region.

India blames Pakistan-based militants for the ongoing Kashmir protests but Kashmiris say the protests are spontaneous.

When deaths, terror and curfews become norm, protests and anger is what comes as response. However, in its reality the frequent protests in Kashmir are not the outcome of the retaliation against the killings that happens with the passage of time. It is, instead, associated with the sentiment of freedom that lies deeply embedded within the hearts of people. Had killings been the only reason, then people would have simply demanded justice or the culprits being brought to the book. But every time there is a protest in Kashmir people raise slogans “we want freedom,” “Go India Go”. It is a fight between the Azadi and Occupation...

So let Kashmiris have their say!!!The problem is political instability that will rock the valley if the Indian government leaves control..But guns in the valley is not a solution to this problem..The Y generation in Kashmir are in every way capable of leading governing themselves..Kashmir has become a liability for the nation though it is a crowning treasure by its intrinsic value..So what to do??LET GO..

Hold some water in your palm.As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.
